I have a number of positions within the Fixed Income world covering trade capture and pricing functionality. The application handles swaps and non-linear instruments and it is expected to see a large increase in business this year. The team handles the front end, server side and pricing development so they are keen to speak to developers with experience in client side development (either C# or Java Swing) or server side VC++ (low latency, multi-threaded development) experience.

Depending on your skill set, the initial focus will be either to build a series of Java based GUIs that allow the front office users to capture the details of the interest rate derivative deals. The server side development will concentrate on the pricing of these trades so ideally this hire will have capital markets experience and will understand

If you are interested please call me on 020 7151 5105 or 0777 1538973.

Program Trading Project Manager - London

I’m currently on the look out for a program trading project manager. The role itself involves managing a number of core applications used by the program prading desks and the middle office across order capture and validation. The focus of the technology team is to deliver market-leading technology to allow the business to grow in the coming years.

As program trading is reliant on speed of execution it is critical for this hire to have experience across order management systems, direct market access and building algorithims. It would also be beneficial if you had experience with real time data feeds.

If you are interested in this please feel free to call me on 020 7151 5105 or 0777 153 8973

Front Office Java Analytics Position - London

I have an interesting Java role here. My client is looking for Java developers to join a front office team that focuses on providing trade solutions for three trading desks. The project itself requires the developers to build next generation of pricing tools for the rates business. The technologies used in this project are leading edge so if you have an interest in Eclipse RCP, Spring, Tomcat and SWT then this is worth looking at. This is a team that has a very high visibility with the business users and trading heads and therefore will only take on developers who are the top of their field in both technology and their understanding of derivatives.

VaR Mark Risk Business Analyst - London - Tier 1 Investment Bank

As part of the same project above I am interested in speaking with market risk analysts who have experience with VaR and exposure management. The core of this programme is to ensure the integration of new products from their credit and exotics business. This is a role that sits within IT however the day to day responsibilities will involve analysing VaR and dealing with front office traders and marketeers. You should have at least 3 years market risk experience in a derivative field and will be looking to become the in-house market risk expert for this business group. An appreciation of SQL would be beneficial.

If you are interested in this opportunity please call me on 020 7151 5105 or 0777 1538973.

SQL Developer - London - Tier 1 Investment Bank

The project itself involves building a risk management data application that will handle new products from a number of different products. SQL developers, preferably Sybase, are required to work on the main credit derivatives trading system. You will be responsible for extending it to take on more exotic products.

Sybase (SQL) developers are required to look after the data mapping / modelling and development. In addition, this team work extremely close to the business therefore this role will allow you to gain a good understanding of the exotics business.

If you are interested in hearing about this opportunity please call me on 020 7151 5105 or 0777 1538973.

Java Developers with Swing experience

The market for Java developers with Swing experience is quite strong at the moment. With a lot of banks looking to re-engineer their customer/client user interfaces from old technologies it seems that anyone with a swing skill set is highly sought after. Developers who have been working in middle to back office positions can make the move into the front office arena if they have a good understanding of Fixed Income, Derivative or FX products.

Web based trading wins hands down as brokers have been useless for years. They just pump out the party line and hope! Do it for yourself it is great fun and financially rewarding.
